RE: Supplier invoices & purchase orders 1

Dear Ed
Apologies for not getting back to you.
The letter that I sent you is relating to University’s policy on purchase orders being printed clearly on all invoices when being presented for payment not relating to the forms you have previously filled in from the Payroll office. The letter is sent out when a new supplier is set up on our system within the Accounts Payable office.
A member of staff from the department you are providing the work for will be in touch shortly to provide you with a Purchase Order number to put on your invoice.
Hope this helps. Let me know if you need any more information.
Kind Regards
Claire

Hello,
You haven't got back to me!
Are you saying I haven't filled in the forms correctly. I spent ages filling in every relevant bit I could, but it's so complicated it is impossible to do so without making an error! I'm referring particularly to the bits about replacement workers. completely irrelevant for us. If our guides wouldn't have been able to do the tours for any reason it would have been impossible to get a replacement as we're the only people who can do them. Which is why you hired us.
If there's anything we - New Manchester Walks - need to do to receive payment, please let me know rather than send out a round robin letter.
Regards

Your business has recently been registered as a supplier to the University of Salford.
We are anxious that your invoices are paid on time and in an accurate manner.
Please find attached a letter outlining the University’s policy on purchase orders printed clearly on all invoices presented for payment.
Do not hesitate in coming back to me if you require further information.
Kind regards

Show ImagesOptionsHi,
I am considering a visit next summer to London, Liverpool and Manchester. I would like to see the “hallowed ground” and all the Rock landmarks. Do you have any suggestions on how to proceed? What tours are available and what lodging do you recommend that is well located?
Thank you,

Show ImagesOptionsHi Ed,
I have managed to speak with our contact at the Bank pub and we are going to trial our first joint event with your quiz night. The idea is that people will come to the quiz (from 6-8pm) and then head downstairs for a meal at 8.30. So... please can you make sure that the entirety of the quiz fits into 2 hours? And also, if you wanted to book a meal, the menu will be available from the 25th but it is basically burgers, fish and chips etc. + a drink for £9 so not too shabby!
Eventbrite link for it is http://fundraisingquiz.eventbrite.co.uk

Hi Ed
Thanks very much for the email. First up apologies. I used all the guide email contact information passed to me from Emma Anderson and her team before she left for her new post in Southport, as well as several calls out to the city via email, twitter and word of mouth.
We certainly do not want you to miss out at all!
As for the Manchester Guided Tours doing talks here, they approach me and asked if they could host their monthly day time talks here, I’m not able to offer them one of our meeting spaces as it conflicts with our venue hire operations here, but offered them the cafe. Which they decided to take. I’d be happy for other groups to use the cafe in a similar manner and its certainly not an exclusive thing. Other than the provision of space and the usual leaflet racks (which are open to everyone) we have little to do with it.
Again, with the pub quiz, it is an event being coordinated by one of our project staff, Chris Burgess to tie in with his research and project plan of developing new events. I’m sure it is just a happy coincidence as pub quizzes are now rife across the city in all their forms (we are even competing with one on Zombies!). I was not aware of your previous approaches, but being new (ish) in post, that may well be why.
Back to WW – I’ve attached the call for papers that was circulated in July for your information. I can also flag up events on the Wonder Women blog if you send me the information with a bit of notice and this will also be flagged up via Twitter too. I’ll ensure that your dates go into the calendar as we start to pull it together and add you to the list for further updates.
Do add me to your mailing list, please let me know if there are any other email addresses I need to add to the WW list and I will be in touch with the next eBulletin, probably in early Nov.
Best Wishes
Louise

Subject: Wonder Women walks
Hi Louise,
Ed Glinert of New Manchester Walks here.
Sorry to moan, but I didn't want our guides to miss out on the Wonder Women walks which I believe are taking place next March and which we haven't been invited to participate in.
We are the only group of official guides regularly running political walks in Manchester. We have a huge selection of political walks, covering every relevant aspect of Manchester history, including Peterloo, Engels, Disraeli, Gladstone & Cobden, Churchill. We regularly run "Political Heroes of Manchester", "Political Villains of Manchester, "The Formidable Women of Manchester" and in particular our suffragette walk, which we goes monthly. I know Anne Beswick of Manchester Guided Tours also does an occasional Pankhursts/Suffragettes tour - yes, the one I taught her!
Most of our political walks take in the PHM, either starting from the museum or ending there. I also regularly do a number of political talks in Manchester - at the Portico Library, at the Briton's Protection during the Histories Festival, at Gorton Monastery - so I was really surprised to find speakers from Manchester Guided Tours hosting talks at the museum but not to be asked myself. I also proposed a political quiz, to rival the success of the Cathedral's quizzes, some time back to the museum but got no interest, only to find you are now hosting one! Weird.
I think there's been a breakdown in communication somewhere. It appears that one of the organisers has contacted the Guild of Manchester Tour Guides to get involved, which is a bit unfortunate as the Guild doesn't represent all guides. Consequently none of the information has percolated down to New Manchester Walks and I don't want us to miss out, like we did last year.
Anyway, there's plenty of time for us to get involved. We are running two suffragette events next March anyway, so I'm hoping these can be fitted in.
* The Pankhursts walk on Sat 8 March, 11am, from the Midland Hotel.
* The Pankhursts talk at Gorton Monastery on Sunday 16 March, 12 noon.

Ed Glinert

Show ImagesOptionsHi Ed,
The following dates are possible:
3 February – there will be a Super Learning Day taking place which will restrict the areas you can access.
3 March – there will be a Super Learning Day taking place which will restrict the areas you can access.
10, 17 March
24, 31 March – it would be better to avoid these dates if possible as we are running an Experience Easter event and it will involve quiet meditation.
Let me know if you wish to book one of the above dates.
Kind regards,
Jo

Hi Joanne,
I've had a request from a group from Clitheroe for me to take them around the Cathedral and Chetham's on a Monday in February or March, at about 11am-12noon.
Would you be able to provide me with a couple of options?
Best wishes,
Ed Glinert

I've just had a request from a group from Clitheroe for a private tour by me of the Chetham's & Cathedral.
Could they have either Wed 26 Feb morn or Thu 27 Feb morn?

Hi Ed,
We could do the following:
Wednesday 11 December at 11.30am – This is a charity concert so there shouldn’t be a big set up, perhaps some tables, seating etc
Tuesday 28 January at 2.30pm
Tuesday 11 February at 2.30pm
Tuesday 25 February at 2.30pm
Tuesday 11 March at 2.30pm

Thanks Joanne,
Glad to see the Cathedral is back in business!
There's probably little point in our coming in with a group on days when a concert is taking place - or times when the organist is doing his thing as it's impossible to hear the guide.
I've applied for these dates early so that I can change them if necessary without spoiling the rest of the programme.
Seems as if it would be best if you gave me dates when there are no concerts and slots when the organist is away from the instrument! I'm very flexible at the moment and happy to do the tour say on a Monday afternoon. Actually, Tuesday afternoons would be even better.
I'm off to do Knutsford right now, but I might ring you later or tomorrow morning as the sooner I can get reasonable Cathedral times (ie days which are less noisy than others), the sooner I can get the rest of the programme done. I'm not looking for the perfect day, just best to avoid concerts; and I'm sure the organist isn't there all day every day.
Regards
Ed

Hi Joanne,
Just been in contact with Anthony O'Connor. He tells me the good news that the Cathedral is reopening on schedule at the end of November.
I'm currently planning our autumn/winter programme, and so would like to include the Cathedral for our joint tour that takes in a visit to Chetham's.
The public are desperate to see the building again!
I will of course make our customers aware that all tours are subject to
a) the Cathedral reopening by the date in question
b) the Cathedral being generally available.
Here are the dates. All tours start at 11am, so we would arrive at the Cathedral either at 11.15 or 12 noon.
Wed 11 Dec – Booked in at 11.15am, there will be set up taking place for a concert
Fri 24 Jan – We have a provisional booking for a big concert and if it takes place it will be difficult for you to access various areas/could be noisy.
Fri 7 Feb– We have a provisional booking for a big concert and if it takes place it will be difficult for you to access various areas/could be noisy.
Thu 20 Feb– We have a provisional booking for a big concert and if it takes place it will be difficult for you to access various areas/could be noisy
Fri 7 Mar – Booked in at 11.15am, there is organ tuning taking place
Wed 19 Mar - Booked in at 11.15am.
Hope this is okay
Regards
Ed
