We head through the glorious Romiley countryside, which you’ll discover is the most beautiful and verdant enclave anywhere in Greater Manchester, to mediaeval Chadkirk chapel. Then it’s through the woods, wild and wayward, up to the Peak Forest Canal and along to Britain’s most spectacular viaduct thousands of feet above the River Goyt. Through Brabyns Park we will find the old iron bridge and fetch up in the even more spectacular Etherow Country Park.
* Warning: this is a seriously picturesque walk.
* Logistics warning. This is not a circular walk, so if you come by car you’ll have to train it back from Marple to Romiley. The two stations are on the same line.
